A Message from Walter’s Family
Walter Hauenstein opened Oak Middle School in 1962 and Los Alamitos High School in 1967.
Walter was born in Maryland, but grew up and went to school in Kansas. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Walter died August 18, 2020 at 89 years of age. A Trojan and a Griffin, he was admired and loved by students and staff alike.
