Updated Spring SAT Prep Class Information
Dear SAT Prep Families,
We would like to start this email by extending our hope that you are all well and staying safe. Thank you for beginning your college journey and your preparation for the SAT with us. Back in February, we anticipated that this time in April would find us wrapping up our prep! Instead, we find ourselves reaching out to share with you our plan for moving forward.
Since the mission of this class is to ensure that all LAHS students have access to SAT preparation, we have decided to form our plan for rescheduling the SAT PREP classes around the College Board’s plan for rescheduling the SAT. At this time, the College Board has cancelled the May test. Although the June test has not yet been cancelled, following through on the June administration depends on the “evolving public health situation.” The College Board does promise, though, “to ensure all students can still take the SAT this fall.” (See the “Future Testing Opportunities” section of the “Coronavirus Updates for Students” page of the College Board’s website.)
As a result of this single certainty, we would like to reschedule LAEF’s SAT PREP course. We want to concurrently prepare students for the Fall 2020 SAT administrations.
The anticipated dates for Fall 2020 test administrations are October 3, November 7 and December 5. (See the “SAT Test Dates and Deadlines” page of the College Board’s website.) It is somewhat likely that we will run a rescheduled SAT PREP course during September in preparation for one of the upcoming fall tests. In the meantime, however, please utilize the Khan Academy and Official SAT Study Guide resources (which you received from LAEF) with which you became familiar during the first two SAT PREP classes. Now is a great chance to take advantage of available time to build skills and knowledge based on what you’ve learned about the test, your content-area strengths and weaknesses, and the college goals that you’ve set for yourself!
These are unprecedented times. All of this is predicated on the current health status of our state. We hope that you continue follow healthy guidelines. Stay home and stay safe.
We will continue to update you as we know more. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
